Biography
Created in the middle of 2010, Gerard ask Donnie whether he wanted to play music together. Soon when they saw people playing an acoustic music at cafes and places, they soon began to think about making music with their own taste. They then search for a vocalist and cajon player, considering they both play guitars. Not long after, they found Elysa, a friend of Gerard. They found something common between them. They all want to makes good music. Alternative music. Usman then heard about them who wants to make an acoustic regular band. He soon joined the band. The band’s member at the time were Elysa (vocal), Gerard (guitar, vocal), Donnie (guitar, vocal), and Usman (cajon, percussion). In late 2010, the band welcomed a bass player Christ Suprapto. The band continued to play in a regular places and play at various gigs including the New Year eve celebration in SMS (Summarecon Mall Serpong).
At the start of 2011, the band’s member continued to grew up and started to have their own vision. Elysa started to focused more in her college and decided to discontinued with the band. Gerard started to focused more in his movie study and decided to discontinued with the band. MonoStereo keep moving forward. MonoStereo started to look for a new player to fill in the vocal seat. They decided to have Tessa in vocal position. Soon they began to practice more and more. They adapted their music to become more creative. The type of music that each member listen sometimes differ from each other. But that what makes MonoStereo making creative music. They play songs from the 60’s until the 2000’s music and many other type of song. They classified their music as a combination of Alternative - Rock - Pop genre.

# Donnie Angkuw - Guitar, vocal, piano
# Christ Suprapto - Bass, vocal
# Usman Pranoto - Cajon/drums
Currently, they play regularly at Summarecon Mall Serpong (Gading Serpong) and other various places. They also a band that play at various gigs, whether it is in a form of acoustic or full band. Now they’re currently working on several demos and new songs. Stay connected with us.

Music Influences
The vocalist, Tessa listened to many artists. Basically all around music like Jazz, pop-ballad, and alternative rock. She listened to music like The Corrs, Paramore, Coldplay, Radiohead and many more. Donnie listened to almost every type of music. He like progessive, modern-rock music and also pop and RnB. He listened to The Beatles, Queen, Circa Survive, Incubus, The Fall Of Troy, The Mars Volta and many more. Christ listened to music such as Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Journey and more. Usman, the cajon player, is a modern drummer who like the music of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Muse, Oasis along with Pat Metheny, Steve Smith’s Jazz Legacy, SlipKnot and more. All of these music is the influences that makes one music of MonoStereo.

The Denomination
The name of the band is MonoStereo. About the name it all just came out from Donnie. We all just sit around and thinking about many names like Plug n Play and something like that. It was first MonoToStereo. But soon became MonoStereo as it is easy to remember. The meaning of the name is from one music (Mono) of MonoStereo can creates many things (Stereo) such as craziness, coziness. More meaning is each member (consider it Mono=one) have their own taste to make good music in the band (becoming Stereo or many things). Below is the logo of MonoStereo.
